GROW

GROW 2024 will run from Friday September 27 until Sunday September 29 at Columbia University.

The GROW conference is intended to provide support and encouragement to undergraduate students considering going to graduate school in the mathematical sciences and to help build a profession in which gender identity is not a barrier to participation. The conference runs annually, and is open to all undergraduates from U.S. colleges and universities, including international students. Students of all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, races, nationalities and religions are encouraged to apply to GROW and these characteristics will not be used in determining funding or participation decisions. This conference supports the Welcoming Environment Statement of the Association for Women in Mathematics

GROW began at Northwestern University in 2015, and ran there for three successive years. It has been hosted at different institutions yearly since then. For previous instances of GROW, see this link.

The application period for GROW is no longer open. We thank all who applied and if you were unable to attend this year, please stay tuned for GROW 2025 at Columbia next fall.

GROW 2024 is organized by members of the Columbia Mathematics Department (Ivan Corwin, Giulia Saccà, Akash Sengupta) and Statistics Department (Richard Davis, Tian Zheng), and acknowledges generous support from the following sources: The Columbia University Department of Mathematics, Columbia University Department of Statistics, Columbia University Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics, Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Jane Street, Two Sigma, and the National Science Foundation.
